Giving something back, helping in the nursery on Motutapu

We thought it would be a good thing to show our faces up at the nursery,  and ask Trevor what he needed to be done, and make our time there count. We saw Rodway when we were walking up there, he gets sent back to North head at the end of the month.
The view looking back to the house is amazing.

He asked why we hadn't been there for a long time,  I had to plead disability.
Anyway we were rewarded during our time moving plants and washing out trays and bags for reuse, by spotting some if the resident Takahe.  They do some damage there, but given they really are the guests of honour,  they are made very welcome.

When I started having trouble standing it was time to go and go back to pack up and
D get the water taxi back to Stanley point. A bit sad to leave Issy bay, but I know we will be back.
Tripped on the wharf exiting the water taxi, it is a huge step up. still got the badge from it

It is interesting that Andrew died on Waitangi day, his presence is still there 5 years on.
We still have his picture on the wall.
But the best way to spend a Waitangi weekend.
