The rock, early in the morning before the sun rise. It had been a long time since going there, around 18 months. I was interested to see how we would get there, as my ability to walk was still not great. Roumer had it that there were no water taxis going there because of various misdemeanors. I was lucky enough to get a water taxi with the same group we had used in the past, as walking in from the wharf on the Southern side was not an option particularly with 5 of us, we still managed to have 14 pieces of gear.
It was pretty good to see the old place again, even if we did arrive late, and had to use the wheelbarrow to get everything there. There was still a little bit of the tide there and it was good to look out at Motutapu again, Really green for the time of year, the height of summer.
Girls in the water, they were delighted to be in, it was like a warm bath, in the sweltering heat. Nobody mined the cold water showers after.
The house, still there after almost 85 years.
Girls enjoying the water swimming and kayaking.
The path around the boat shed.
